Program Matrix
Who uses it?
The managers, or members of the team.
Why use it?
To plan out how you will achieve an objective through specific activities.
When to use it?
After you have established an objective.
How to use it:
- Think about the objective you want to operationalize. What are the different activities that need to take place to meet that objective?
- Create a chart that has the following headings:
Activities
(What? How? Where?) |
Indicators (Evaluation
Method) | Goal (How much?) | Resources | Personnel (Who?) | Time Line |
| | | | | |
| | | | |
| | | | | |
| | | | |
| | | | | |
| | | | |
Activities - What exactly will take place?
Indicators - How will you evaluate the activity? How will you know if you are successful?
Goals - How often, how much?
Resources - What materials or finances are needed for each
activity?
Personnel - Who is responsible for each task?
Time Line - When will this take place?
- Fill out the chart, and plan out the indicators, goals, resources, personnel, and time line for each activity that makes up your overall objective.
Example:
Here is an example of using a program matrix to plan the solution.
