Using a Pie Chart

Referring back to the Summary Analysis of the data the team collected when they were doing the Client Flow Analysis, the team decides to build a pie chart to visualize the average proportion of time users spend waiting versus the amount of time users spend in contact with staff.

They draw a circle and represent on the circle the values (in percentages) of the data they collected:

  • time spent in contact with staff: 17%
  • waiting time: 83%

Below is the pie chart that they draw:

Mrs. Alvarez is pleased. Now that the team has done an excellent job of describing the problem of waiting time in the clinic, they are ready to start analyzing the problem so they can then move on to planning the solution.
